Guidelines for Authors

We look forward to welcoming you to the international scientific conference TOSEE 2025 with the theme "Shaping the Future: Digital Tourism and Sustainable Development". This highly anticipated event will provide a dynamic platform for academics, researchers and professionals to discuss current issues, share research findings and explore innovative solutions for the future of tourism and sustainable development.

TOSEE 2025 will focus on the interplay of digital transformation and sustainability in the tourism industry and promote dialogue and collaboration on the challenges and opportunities of the future.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The Abstract (400-600 words) must be structured into 4 subheadings and followed by 4-6 key words:

  • Purpose (What are the reason(s) for writing the paper or aims of the research).
  • Methodology (How are the objectives achieved? Include main method(s) used for the research. How do you approach the topic and what is the theoretical or subject scope of the paper?).
  • Findings (What was discovered/proved in the course of conducting the research? This will refer to the analysis, discussion or results. If the paper reports on the research, include suggestions for the future research and provide information about any identified limitations during the research process).
  • Contribution (What is new in the paper? State its theoretical, empirical, practical and social contribution and what it concerns).

Each participant is expected to submit no more than two papers.

Submitted papers are expected to be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time.

Author guidelines

All submitted manuscripts are initially subject to evaluation by the Editors-in-Chief. If they deem the paper suitable, it will be sent for peer review by two independent and anonymous expert referees. The final selection of papers will be made following a double-blind review process by the Editors-in-Chief. The authors may present the paper at the conference after the final acceptance of the paper for publication has been confirmed. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the electronic format of the Conference Proceedings as Open-Aceess articles.

Submitted papers are expected to be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time. ToSEE publishes original scientific papers, preliminary communications, and review articles, with a length limit of 30.000 characters (15 pages). The paper should be written following the ToSEE 2025 – Conference Template for Full papers in English using Microsoft Word. Authors are responsible for the completeness and grammatical correctness of the paper, without spelling and typographical errors.

Instructions for full papers

The text submitted should not exceed 30,000 characters (15 pages) and should be typed according to the instructions below: 

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 10;
  • Line spacing: single; A4 Format (297x210 mm);
  • Page SetupMargins: top 5 cm, bottom 5 cm, left 4.4 cm, right 4.2 cm, gutter 0 cm;
  • Layout: header 4 cm, footer 4 cm.
  • The cover page has to list the authors' names, their titles, positions, full addresses of their institutions, telephone, e-mail address, title of the paper.
  • Title of the paper should be concise and informative.

Abstract comprising between  200  and  250  words  should  include  the  purpose, design, methodology, approach, findings, and originality of the research. The abstract should be accompanied by 4-6 keywords pertinent to the main topic of the paper and suitable for indexing and online search purposes.

References to other publications must be made in  Harvard  style  and  carefully  checked  for completeness, accuracy and consistency. In the text references must be included using Harvard "author-date" citation system, e.g. (Jackson 2004, 176) or (Jackson and Miller 2005, 26). An alphabetically ordered reference list should be supplied at the end of the paper.

  • Book chapter: Surname, Initials (year), "Chapter title", Editor's Surname, Initials, Title of Book, Publisher, Place of publication, pages.

e.g.  Calabrese,  F.A.  (2005),  "The  early  pathways:  theory  to  practice  –  a  continuum",  in Stankosky, M. (Ed.), Creating the Discipline of Knowledge Management, Elsevier, New York, NY, pp. 15-20.

Please include DOIs in your references if possible.

Figures, graphs, tables must be inserted in the correct place in the text. They should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and labelled appropriately in the upper left corner of the figure, graph or table.
